Description:

Frontier Adolescent Day Treatment is an intensive day treatment program that is an integrated educational and therapeutic program. The program is designed to provide the least restrictive environment for students who have emotional, behavioral and learning difficulties that hinder their ability to benefit from their special education program. Our program provides a safe and stable therapeutic environment, as well as appropriate and effective education and mental health services, which includes individual, group and family therapy, and medication evaluation and monitoring by the staff psychiatrist. Other services are modeled off therapeutic community principles and include multi-family groups, milieu therapy, art therapy, anger management, social skills groups, alcohol and drug counseling, and recreational therapy. Our Frontier program staff work closely with the family, school district of residence, County of San Diego Children's Mental Health, social services and other agencies to ensure students' educational and mental health needs are met.

Day treatment services can be accessed for eligible students between the ages of 12 and 18 years old who have been assessed by the County of San Diego Children's Mental Health for AB 2726 services.
