Helpdesk Administrator - Information Technology Department

Program Description

Mental Health Systems, Inc. (MHS) is one of the largest non-profit, community based service organizations in California. MHS oversees more than 80 programs in California providing mental health and drug / alcohol rehabilitation services. MHS’s mission is to improve the lives of those we serve. We are seeking a helpdesk administrator / Tier 1 Technician to join our Information Technology Department that possesses strong customer service skills, demonstrated technical aptitude and a passion for excellence. The right candidate will be extremely detail oriented, able to multi-task in a demanding environment and demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.

Position Description:

  • Our ideal candidate will meet the following support requirements:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective troubleshooting skills
  • Quick and accurate issue/problem isolation
  • Ability to effectively document isolated issues and route to Tier 2 or 3rd party when needed
  • Proficient Remote Support (Laptops, desktops, mobile phones)
  • Very good understanding of Outlook 2003 & 2007
  • Intermediate knowledge of Office 2003, and 2007 versions. 
  • Basic understanding of Windows Domain, DNS, and DHCP. 
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP and Internet connectivity. 
  • VPN & Wireless broadband connectivity and troubleshooting. 
  • Familiar with computer imaging (Ghost)
  • Ability to walk users through certain issues over the phone
  • Experience with troubleshooting local and network printers. 
  • Must be well organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be detail oriented for tasks such as the following:
  • Ordering and Receiving
  • Place orders through vendors, update and maintain all ordering paperwork 
  • Inventory Management
  • Scan & Inventory new IT Equipment, update inventory system
  • Responsible for shipping all new equipment and repaired equipment via FedEx Ship Manager
  • Responsible for bill coding for IT bills with appropriate accounting codes

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED is required
  • A+ / N+ / MCP candidates are preferred
  • Bilingual/Bicultural candidates are encouraged to apply
