January 8, 2010 - San Diego, Calif. - Faculty and medical students at UC San Diego have recently developed an iPhone/IPod touch app for people who suffer from panic attacks. The tool is designed to guide the user through a panic attack using a combination of mindfulness and relaxation exercises. By offering it as a stepped care option, UC San Diego hopes to interrupt the progression to panic disorder and agoraphobia. The developers are interested in receiving feedback to help guide the evolution of this tool.
